12/5/11 The US Senate on 12/1 passed S 1867, the National Defense Act for Fiscal 2012 93-7. S 1867 contains a provision denying suspected terrorists, even US citizens seized within the US the right to trial and subjects them to indefinite detention. Johnson & Kohl both voted in favor of this bill. The house version HR 1540 passed 322-96. The HR 1540 Conference Report passed the house 283-136 and the senate 86-13 and was presented to the President 12/21 and Obama signed it into law 12/31/11.
12/2/11 The Justice Department released more than 1,000 pages of documents related to Operation Fast & Furious. These latest documents expose the fact that the administration lied to Congress in its previous statements about the gun walking program. Surprise, Surprise, the administration lied!
11/30/11 Gov Walker released a letter stating he directed the Wisconsin Ins Commissioner to withdraw WI INS 18 Emergency Rule. He should also return the $49 million grant to help implement Obamacare. If WI is not in favor of Obamacare why does the state have a prototype Wisconsin Health Insurance Exchange on the state's website?

11/16/11 The campaign to recall Governor Walker, Lt Governor Kleefisch, and 4 Republican senators; Scott Fitzgerald, Pam Galloway, Terry Moulton and Van Wanggaard got off to an early start yesterday morning.
11/16/11 We became aware The Office of the Commissioner of Insurance (OCI) for Wisconsin forwarded an emergency rule to Gov Walker, and he signed it, that would begin Wisconsin's compliance with ObamaCare. This was bad public policy and we encouraged folks to call Gov Walker at 608-266-1212 and let him know that Wisconsin wants absolutely nothing to do with ObamaCare.
11/2/11 AB 210 dealing with Obamacare passed the Assembly 57-39 10/18 & a public hearing was held in the Senate 10/25. Sen Frank Lasee stopped the bill in his committee for which we can all be thankful.

11/3/11 The Assembly passed the Castle Doctrine bill AB 69 on a vote of 71-24 11/1 and the Senate passed it 11/3 on a vote of 26-7. Gov Walker signed it into law 12/7/11

10/11/11 A public hearing was held on SJR 21 Oct 11. This proposal relates to: the right of the people to contract privately for health care services and health care coverage, and prohibiting requiring a person to obtain or maintain health insurance coverage or to participate in any health care system or plan (first consideration)
10/7/11 AB 303 & SB 225 Companion bills relating to Comprehensive planning and making an appropriation have been introduced. These bills if passed will repeal "Smart Growth" and funding for the same which is part of the United Nations Agenda 21 program.

8/16/11 The unofficial results of the recall efforts of 2 Democrat senators are that (D) Sen Jim Holperin defeated his challenger (R) Kim Simac, and (D) Sen Robert Wirch defeated his challenger (R) Jonathan Steitz. With both Democrats retaining their office this leaves the senate with a 17-16 Republican majority.
8/12/11 The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that Congress overstepped its authority and ruled it is not constitutional to require Americans to purchase health insurance. This ruling moves the issue closer to the case going to the US Supreme Ct. The 11th Circuit Ct's ruling sided with 26 states that sued to stop the law from taking effect. The Federal appeals court in Cincinnati upheld the mandate earlier and several lower courts have issued differing opinions. This latest ruling could force the US Supreme Ct to take the case.
8/12/11 Standard & Poor announced it has downgraded the US credit rating to one notch below AAA for the first time, which dealt a symbolic blow to the world's economic superpower in what was a sharply worded critique of the American political system. This only adds more instability to the US economic situation.
8/9/11 4 Republicans survived the recall election and 2 Republicans were defeated by Democrat challengers. Dan Kapanke of La Crosse was defeated by (D) Rep Jennifer Shilling and Randy Hopper of Fond du Lac was defeated by (D) Jessica King of Oshkosh. Senators Alberta Darling of River Hills, Sheila Harsdorf of River Falls, Luther Olsen of Ripon and Rob Cowles of Allouez survived the recall attempts. This leaves a 17-16 Republican majority.
8/1/11 The federal government averted a shut down by passing a bill to stall the inevitable, but did nothing to solve the problem. It is far from over and shows the federal government lacks the backbone to solve a growing problem. Check the UPDATED FEDERAL BILLS for the voting records.
7/14/11 All 6 of the Republican recall primaries went to true Democrat candidates rather than the Republicans that ran as Democrats to bring about the primaries. The vacant District 48 Assembly race primary was won by lawyer Chris Taylor and former Planned Parenthood lobbyist. She will be elected to fill the vacancy as she is the only name on the ballot for the general election.
7/13/11 WI has settled the old tax-reciprocity debt owed to the MN. The MN Dept of Rev acknowledged on the 12th that they received a payment of $59.7 million from Wisconsin. This was money that was owed them which the former administration had not paid and was actually robbing from them. WI did something right for a change!
7/12/11 A new ruling for Madison, WI. Council finds public nudity a legitimate form of protest and artistic expression. One can only wonder what will be the next ruling to come from the Capitol City.
7/9/11 Gov Walker signed SB 93 into law as WI ACT 35 Friday, July 8, at the Grand Lodge in Wausau.
6/26/11 Gov Walker signed the budget bill (AB 40 as amended) in Green Bay as 532 page WI Act 32 .
6/21/11 The Assembly passed SB 93 in amended form on a vote of 68-27 after tabling all offered amendments. The bill was then messaged to the Governor for his consideration.
6/17/11 The Assembly passed the 1,532 page budget bill (AB 40 as amended) at 3:04 am 6/16 60-38 and the Senate passed it 19-14 at 9:58 PM 6/16. It now goes to the Gov for his signature.
6/14/11 The WI Supreme Ct in a 4-3 decision overruled Judge Sumi's ruling on the Budget Adj Bill making WI ACT 10 now law. 3 justices, Abrahamson, Bradley & Crooks concurred in part & dissented in part. Secretary of state LaFollette will officially publish the Act June 28 and it will be effective June 29, 2011. A lawsuit filed 6/15 by several unions, including the American Federation of Teachers, Wisconsin Education Council and American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, will be heard in federal court, as it challenges the legality of the law under the U.S. Constitution.
